Where Does Bill Clinton Live: The 42nd President of the United States of America, William Jefferson Clinton is an American politician and attorney who served as the country’s 42nd president from 1993 to 2001. Previous to that, he served as governor of Arkansas twice, first in 1979 and then again in 1983 and 1992. He had previously served as attorney general of Arkansas from 1977 to 1979.
Despite being a member of the Democratic Party, Clinton earned the nickname “New Democrat” due to the fact that many of his initiatives mirrored a centrist “Third Way” political ideology. The former Secretary of State from 2009 to 2013 and the Democratic nominee for president in the 2016 presidential election is married to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Clinton was born and raised in Arkansas, and he received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University. He was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship to study at University College, Oxford, and went on to graduate from Yale Law School after receiving the scholarship. He met Hillary Rodham while studying at Yale, and the two were married in 1975.
Soon after graduating from law school, Clinton returned to Arkansas and was elected to the position of state attorney general, which he held for two nonconsecutive years before becoming governor. The state’s education system was reformed during his tenure as governor, and he served as head of the National Governors Association.
Clinton was elected president of the United States in the 1992 presidential election, beating incumbent Republican President George H.W. Bush and independent businessman Ross Perot in the process. Clinton became the third-youngest president in the history of the United States when he was elected at the age of 46.
