Sinclair Broadcast Group Hack: According to Sinclair Broadcast Group (SBGI), one of the leading television station operators in the United States, a ransomware attack is causing some of its offices and operational networks to be unavailable.

Staffers were informed during an early afternoon town hall meeting held through Zoom that the ripple effects are vast and that the full extent of the ramifications is not yet understood.
In a statement to investors, the company stated that the intrusion “has caused and may continue to cause disruption to portions of the company’s business, including certain aspects of the company’s offering of local advertisements via its local broadcast stations on behalf of its clients.” Nearly 3% of the market’s value was lost in the stock market.

As the firm disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns roughly 300 stations across the country and provides local news services, was the target of a ransomware attack over the weekend.
