Sam Burgess Affair: In the hours following his admission that he had been cheating on his wife, Phoebe, during their four-year marriage, text messages between Sam Burgess and his Melbourne lover have resurfaced.
An episode of SAS Australia aired on Monday night, during which the former NRL player was probed and admitted to being “not the greatest husband.”
‘I embarrassed my wife in front of everyone. I’d been having an extramarital affair with a girl, a woman in Melbourne. I was on tour at the time, and it was unfortunate that this happened. It would have been quite difficult for Phoebe.’
Messaging claiming to be between Burgess and a Melbourne mother appeared in late 2020, creating the picture of a brief encounter between the Englishman and a Melbourne mother while Burgess was representing his country at the Rugby World Cup.
During the months of October and November 2017, the pair met multiple times, exchanged photos and videos, and Facetimed on a regular basis. Following the dissolution of his marriage, Sam Burgess has admitted to cheating on his ex-wife and turning to drugs in order to cope.
Burgess, 32, is widely regarded as one of the best rugby league players of his generation. He enjoyed a long and successful career with the South Sydney Rabbitohs, where he made 182 appearances over two different stints and helped them win the NRL Grand Final in 2014. Burgess is currently a member of the New Zealand national rugby league team.
However, he has also struggled with personal issues, and during the first episode of SAS Australia, he opened up to host Ant Middleton about his extramarital affair while married to Phoebe Hook, which he described as “a nightmare.”
‘I embarrassed my wife by having a sexual relationship with a girl, a woman, in Melbourne.’ That is correct. “I was abroad on tour at the time, and it regrettably happened,” he said.
“It would have been a difficult situation for Phoebe to be in.” According to the inaugural episode of SAS Australia, former NRL star Sam Burgess has acknowledged to having an affair during his four-year marriage to his wife.
According to a stunning interview with former Special Forces soldiers, the ex-South Sydney Rabbitohs player admitted to cheating on his wife prior to the dissolution of their marriage and recently checked himself into rehab.
It will be the 32-year-old who will compete against 18 other celebrities on the Channel Seven reality television series, which will put recruits through a battery of physical and psychological tests based on the real SAS selection procedure.
I’ve felt like a loser for the past 18 months; my marriage has broken down, I’ve retired from sports, and my ex-father-in-law has taken an AVO out on me… It is possible to develop a habit of losing regardless of how much you dislike doing so,” he adds on the show.
“I’m here because I want to prove to myself that I’m still capable of becoming a winner.” In Monday’s episode of SAS Australia, Sam Burgess confesses to cheating on his ex-wife and claims that the breakup of his marriage, as well as the end of his rugby league career, caused him to hit rock bottom and wind up in rehab.
He is widely regarded as one of the greatest rugby league players of his period, having played for both the Bradford Bulls and the South Sydney Rabbitohs during his career.
However, he has also been through a lot of hardship in his personal life, and he has admitted to having an affair with a Melbourne woman while still married to Phoebe Hook.
In the first episode of SAS Australia, Burgess admits that he wasn’t the best husband at times, saying, “I don’t think I was the greatest husband at times.”
