Malikah Shabazz Son: Once again, tragedy has befallen the family of civil rights pioneer Malcolm X, when one of the civil rights activist’s daughters was discovered dead at her home in Brooklyn.

A woman’s body was discovered in the afternoon on Monday afternoon, only days after two men convicted of killing her renowned father were exonerated in the 1965 murder. Malikah Shabazz was 56 at the time of her death.

The revelation has shocked Malcolm X’s renowned family, who have been in the public eye for more than half a century. Although there is no evidence of foul play, the family has been shaken by the news.

Malikah Shabazz was one of six children that the late activist and his wife, Betty Shabazz, had together before her death in 1997.

Following Malcolm X’s killing, the American public developed a strong interest in the lives of Betty and the little daughters who had been left behind by their father.

Malikah Shabazz, one of Malcolm X’s children, was discovered dead at her home in New York, according to authorities.

Shabazz, 56, was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn home at approximately 4.30 p.m., according to police, and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene.

According to two authorities who spoke with NBC News, the city’s medical examiner came to the site and determined that the death did not look suspicious.

It comes around 57 years after the assassination of civil rights leader Malcolm X, and at a time when two of those convicted in connection with the civil rights leader’s death are anticipated to be exonerated.

Shabazz was one of Malcolm X and Betty Shabazz’s six children, and he was the youngest. The coroner’s office, in the meantime, performed an investigation and determined that the occurrence was “not suspicious” in nature. Malcolm X and his wife, Betty X, were the parents of six children. She and her twin sister Malaak were born after the human rights campaigner died in 1965 when Malikah was just a year old.

A few days before Malikah’s murder, two men suspected of being engaged in the killing of Malcolm X were exonerated after spending more than two decades in jail on trumped-up charges.

Over the course of the day, there was an outpouring of sympathy for Shabazz on social media, including an emotional Twitter eulogy from Bernice King, daughter of the renowned Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “I am extremely heartbroken by the death,” Bernice King said in a tweet, drawing attention to the fact that Shabazz’s mother, Dr. Betty Shabazz, was “pregnant with Malikah and her twin sister, Malaak, when Brother Malcolm was slain.”

While making an address in the Audubon Ballroom, three of Malikah’s five other sisters were there when their father was fatally murdered while delivering a speech. Malikah and Malaak were born a few months later and were given their given names in honor of their father.
