Intruder channel 5 review: Channel 5 favors four-night dramas, though recent effort The Drowning appeared to have slipped past quality control unseen on its way to the screen. However, it drew in the viewers, and Intruder will most likely do the same.

Gareth Tunley (creator of 2016’s psychological thriller The Ghoul) wrote and directed the film, which is about what happens when a pair of youths break into Sam and Rebecca Hickey’s luxurious country home (Tom Meeten and Elaine Cassidy).

They disturb Sam by tormenting the house and one (Syed) trying to escape via a window, which Sam stabs him in the back fatally. A shocked Rebecca insists that the police should be called, but a panicked Sam realises that he could be indicted for assassination because his victim did not assail him and tried to get away.

After a party that night, Sam, Rebecca, and her boyfriend Angela trickled the evidence to make it look like Syed had attacked Sam and Rebecca, kneading him to save his husband.
