Chris Whitty Salary: Professor Chris Whitty is the Chief Medical Officer for England, the Chief Medical Advisor of the UK Government and Head of the Professional Officer of Public Health. Chris is also Chief Scientific Advisor for the DHSC with overall responsibility for the research and development of the department, including the national health research institute (NIHR) which is the main government funding agency for clinical, public health, social and translational science.
