More than 3.1 million customers from Texas have been out of service on late Tuesday evening, according to the country’s website, well over a day ago, but less than before, as the state’s energy grid operator has been struggling to bring back online power plants crushed by an unprecedented winter storm.

Tuesday afternoon in a press conference, Bill Magness, CEO of the Texas Electric Reliability Council, the non-profit organization that runs the grid, said that “with the weather moderating even a little bit, we hope to see an additional restoration of service” as more generators come online to decline power demand.
