Anna Paquin Show: Anna Hélène Paquin is a Canadian actress who was born in New Zealand. When she was 11 years old, she made her acting debut in the romantic drama film The Piano (1993), in which she was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, making her the second-youngest Academy Award winner in history.

In addition to receiving multiple Young Artist Award nominations for her roles in the films Fly Away Home (1996), The Member of the Wedding (1997), and A Walk on the Moon (1999), she received a nomination for the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in Motion Picture for her role in the comedy-drama film Almost Famous (1996). The daughter of Mary Paquin (née Brophy), an English teacher and native of Wellington, New Zealand, and Brian Paquin, a high school physical education teacher from Canada, Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Paquin has two elder siblings: Andrew (born 1977), who works as a filmmaker, and Katya (born 1980), who is married to former Green Party of New Zealand co-leader Russel Norman and has a daughter with him. [9] Paquin’s ancestors are from a mix of Dutch, French, and Irish families.

When Paquin was four years old, her family relocated to New Zealand. When she was growing up in New Zealand, her musical interests included playing the viola, cello, and piano. She also engaged in gymnastics, ballet, swimming, and downhill skiing, albeit she did not have any interests that were relevant to the entertainment industry.

Paquin studied at Raphael House Rudolf Steiner School in Lower Hutt until she was nine years old, after which she attended Hutt Intermediate School (1994–95).

Having begun her secondary education at Wellington Girls’ College, she went on to obtain her high school certificate at Windward School in Los Angeles when her parents divorced in 1995 and she moved to the United States with her mother.

After graduating from Windward School in June of 2000, she fulfilled the school’s Community Service requirement by volunteering at a soup kitchen and a Special Education Center. She attended Columbia University for one year before abandoning her studies to pursue a job in the entertainment industry.
