Americold Hack: Cold storage giant Americold located in Atlanta says his computers have been hacked. “On November 16, 2020, Americold Realty Trust determined that its computer network was affected by a cybersecurity incident,” the company reported without specifics of the incident.
The company says it has taken immediate measures to contain the event and introduced business continuity plans to maintain operations where necessary.
America is the largest publicly traded investment trust in immobilizing storehouses in the world. It owns 185 temperature-controlled warehouses and operates them worldwide with more than 1 billion cooled cubic pieds.
Americold has contacted law enforcement, cybersecurity experts and attorneys, and has been working closely with them. American food producers and retailers, such as Ahold Delhaize USA, are amongst Americolds’ customers, which operates over 2,000 retail stores in 23 countries.
“Security, in all its forms, remains a top priority at Americold, and the company will continue to seek to take all appropriate measures to further safeguard the integrity of its information technology infrastructure, data and customer information,” the company said.
