Amanda Gorman Poem Review: A couple of weeklong ago, the poet Amanda Gorman felt tired and concerned she could not accomplish her monumental task: writing a poem about the national unity to recite at the inauguration of President elected Joseph R. Biden Jr.
She said in an interview. “I had this gigantic thing, probably one of the most important things I would ever do in my career.” “They were like, I’m only going to pass away if I try to climb this mountain at once.
On the 6th of January, when pro-Trump Rioters hit the Congress halls with arms and fireflies, Gorman managed to write a couple of lines a day and was about half way through the poem.
“I will not gloss in my poem over what we have experienced over the last few weeks and, I dare hope, over the last several years. But what I hope to do in the poem is to be able to use my words to find out how our country can still unite and heal,” she said. “That is done in such a manner that the harsh truths that America needs to reconcile with are not erased or neglected.”
